The Bengals have announced their 2026 Ring of Honour Inductees.
Former RB James Brooks and former TE Bob Trumpy will be getting in. The ceremony will take place at halftime of their week 8 matchup against the Tennessee Titans on November 1.
Both of these selections are going a ways back into the Bengals team history. Brooks first joined the team in 1984 after being acquired in a trade from the San Diego Chargers. In 8 seasons in Cincinnati, he rushed for 6,447 yards and 37 TD’s, while adding 3,012 yards and 27 TD’s through the air.
Trumpy, meanwhile, spent his entire 10 year career in Cincinnati after the Bengals selected him in the 12th round of the 1968 NFL Draft. Over that span, he put up 4,600 yards and 35 TD’s on 298 catches.
Trumpy, unfortunately passed away last November at the age of 80. But still, it is good to see the legacy of team greats from earlier times continue to live on.
The pair will be joining a list of other organizational greats in the Ring of Honour, like Paul Brown, Anthony Muñoz, Ken Riley, Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, Chad Johnson, Willie Anderson, Isaac Curtis, Corey Dillon, Tim Krumrie, Dave Lapham, and Lemar Parrish.
