The Bengals have signed DT Dexter Lawrence to a 1 year, $28M contract extension.
This move comes just a day after the team agreed to send the 10th overall pick to the New York Giants to acquire the big NT.
Lawrence already had 2 years remaining on his deal, which initially carried a $20M and $22M cap hit for 2026 and 2027, respectively. After the extension, the Bengals have rearranged some of that.
The new cap hit for this season, according to Over the Cap, is $15.333M. For 2027, it is now $24.208M, while the cap hit for 2028 is $30.458M.
The Bengals have chosen to push more cap into the next 2 years of this deal, while clearing up close to $5M on this year’s books.
