The Buffalo Bills have signed former Bengals S Geno Stone to a 1 year deal.

He was originally a 7th round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2020. His second season was spent in Houston with the Texans, after he was claimed off waivers, but he quickly ended up back in Baltimore to spend a couple more seasons with the Ravens.

The Bengals brought Stone in as a free agent in 2024. Nick Scott had just failed as a replacement for Jessie Bates, and the they were hoping that Stone could replicate some of the success that he had in Baltimore.

Unfortunately, things did not go so well. There were good moments, when he was able to force turnovers. However, severe tackling issues and lapses in coverage plagued Stone’s 2 year tenure in Cincinnati.

Looking to find an upgrade, the Bengals signed Bryan Cook at the start of free agency, and the writing was on the wall for Stone. He’ll now look to bounce back in Buffalo with another AFC contender.

In other news, former Bengals CB Marco Wilson has signed a 1 year deal with the Miami Dolphins.

Wilson was originally a 4th round pick of the Cardinals in 2021, spending a couple of seasons there before ending up in New England. The Patriots waived him, and he was claimed by the Bengals part-way through the 2024 season.

In a season and a half with the Bengals, Wilson primarily played in a depth and special teams role. He saw occasional time on defence, and showed some flashes during these stints.

He would have been a solid option to keep in the fold as a depth option, but the Bengals will now be looking for more depth elsewhere, as Wilson moves on to Miami.
