The Bengals have been without DE Trey Hendrickson since he left at halftime during the Jets game in week 8. Now, he has been placed on IR. On this injury report, he had been listed with a hip/pelvis injury. Now, he underwent core muscle surgery.
With the Bengals facing long odds of making the playoffs, this likely ends his season. There are only 4 weeks left, while Hendrickson’s recovery is reportedly in the 6 week range. Even if the Bengals do make the playoffs, they will have to go on a bit of a run for him to return.
But with this news, comes some better news. DE Shemar Stewart has been designated for return off IR. The rookie 1st rounder has been dealing with a knee injury. He got in three limited sessions this week, but is listed as doubtful. He’ll likely be activated next week.
This was also the case last week with LB Shaka Heyward. He returned to practice after a stint on IR, but did not play. He has now been activated officially, and should be good to go for week 15.
The Bengals will be without WR Tee Higgins. He returned last week after missing 1 game due to a concussion. He seemed to hit his head a couple of times on the turf, but despite being checked multiple times, he returned to the game. Afterwards, he reported some symptoms and was placed into concussion protocol.
S PJ Jules, meanwhile, is listed as doubtful. Jules, who primarily plays on special teams, picked up his injury last week against the Bills.
The Ravens enter with nobody having been ruled out, at this point. They do have guys playing through injuries, and we know Lamar Jackson isn’t 100%. Officially, Rashod Bateman, Ar’Darius Washington, and Tavius Robinson are listed as questionable. Robinson was recently designated for return off IR.
