Following his standout performances in the past couple of games, the Bengals have promoted CB Jalen Davis from the practice squad to the active roster.
Davis had been on the practice squad for the entirety of the season up to this point, but with multiple injuries at the CB position, he had received a standard elevation for the past two games.
He impressed in both, and contributed to a two game stretch where the defence played better than it did in any of the previous games. Cam Taylor-Britt’s injury will keep him out for the remainder of the season, so it looks as though Davis has cemented his place in the starting lineup for the stretch run.
To further address their depth at the position, the Bengals signed CB Jalen Kimber to the practice squad.
Kimber is a rookie undrafted free agent out of Penn State. He originally signed with the Tennessee Titans following the draft, but failed to make their roster. After being let go, he signed with the Buffalo Bills on their practice squad. They also released him in October, and he had been a free agent until being signed to the Bengals practice squad on Tuesday.
