Ahead of their Thursday Night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals have placed TE Mike Gesicki on IR. He left last week’s game against the Packers early, with what was later revealed to be a pectoral injury. Gesicki will be required to miss a minimum of 4 games.
Fellow TE Tanner Hudson will also miss Thursday’s game. He picked up a concussion against the Packers. Noah Fant figures to see the most targets at the TE position, with Drew Sample continuing in his blocking role.
We might finally see the return of Lucas Patrick this week. The veteran G returned to practice last week, but the Bengals decided to give him more time. But after now having practiced fully, he should be ready to go.
Trey Hendrickson is listed as questionable, and his three straight “DNP” labels will definitely leave some doubt about his status. But being such a huge part of the defence, I’m sure he’ll make an attempt to feel things out during warmups. He’ll likely be a gametime call.
Charlie Jones is also listed as questionable. He was listed as a “DNP” on Monday and Tuesday, but his limited session on Wednesday gives him a solid chance to suit up.
For the Steelers, they will be without WR Calvin Austin, as well as S Miles Killebrew. S DeShon Elliott and LB Malik Harrison are both listed as questionable. Harrison was recently cleared to practice after a stint on IR.
