The Bengals wrapped up their 2025 training camp after holding their final two sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. They have been at it for about a month now, and have also played two of their three preseason games. Their focus will now turn to Saturday’s preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts.
Given that they are on a short week, Wednesday’s practice was understandably lighter. They didn’t have the pads on for this one. Andrei Iosivas, Lucas Patrick, Cody Ford, Cordell Volson, and DJ Turner were all out. Jalen Rivers filled in at RG with the first team. Meanwhile, Geno Stone, BJ Hill, Jermaine Burton, and Mike Gesicki were all back at practice.
They ran some 7 on 7 drills in this one, and Mike Petraglia noted a nice pass from Joe Burrow to Chase Brown, who had about a half step on Logan Wilson in coverage.
Dan Hoard had some praise for Charlie Jones. He made some catches in this session, but his play as a whole in camp was being talked about. Of course, Jones is also coming off a preseason performance that saw him score a TD while out with the first team offence.
The final session for the Bengals on Thursday was much heavier. The starters got quite a bit of work, given that they won’t be playing in the preseason finale.
DJ Turner, Myles Murphy, Cedric Johnson, and Andrei Iosivas were working on the rehab field, while Demetrius Knight, and Lucas Patrick were out. Again, Jalen Rivers ran with the first team in place of Patrick, and Oren Burks worked with the starters at LB. BJ Hill was back at practice and was able to get some work during the 11 on 11 drills.
Matt Lee was also back at practice. It was good for him to get some live reps, and the feeling seems to be that he will play in the preseason finale.
It was an interesting day. Reporter Charlie Clifford noted a deflected pass by Shemar Stewart. Burrow was actually able to catch the deflection and go for a small gain. Then, Burrow hit Isaiah Williams on a deep TD pass.
Charlie Jones also had a TD catch in this one, and Mitchll Tinsley also was involved. Tinsey got an extended look with the first team with Iosivas out.
On the defensive side, Daxton Hill had a nice pass breakup against Ja’Marr Chase in the slot, according to Dan Hoard.
The one scare from this final session was when Tee Higgins got tangled up and was having his ankle looked at. But luckily, he returned soon after, and quickly made a catch upon his return.
With training camp in the books, the focus shifts to the preseason finale against the Colts. Not long after that, roster cutdowns will take place, as the Bengals look to shape their 53 man roster and practice squad.
