Bengals Sign DT’s McTelvin Agim & Taven Bryan

After making a handful of other moves on Sunday, the Bengals still had a couple of open spots. They used them to add to their DT depth, signing McTelvin Agim and Taven Bryan.

Agim was originally a 3rd round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2020. He appeared in 17 games with them, as well as 1 with the Colts in 2023. The veteran has 1.5 career sacks. He will get a chance to compete for a roster spot as a depth player,

Bryan was originally a 1st round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018, and has also spent time with the Browns and Colts. The veteran DT has started 46 of the 113 games he has appeared in, and has racked up 11.5 sacks over that span.

The Bengals hadn’t previously done much to address the DT position this offseason, outside of signing TJ Slaton. These moves aren’t high profile, but the team is adding two veterans who have been able to contribute for other teams in the past. Both have a chance to stick with the Bengals and be added to the rotation. It won’t do much to the unit’s ceiling, but it should help raise the floor.
