The Bengals have announced that former G Dave Lapham and CB Lemar Parrish will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honour during the 2025 season.
Lapham was originally a 3rd round pick of the Bengals in 1974. He earned a starting spot the next season, and remained with the Bengals until 1983. After retiring as a player in 1986, Lapham went into broadcasting. He became the colour commentator on the team’s radio broadcasts, alongside Dan Hoard, who does the play by play. To this day, the duo remain on the air, and have become legends in this area of the game too, having been doing it for nearly 50 years. Lapham is well known, especially for his cheering that can sometimes be heard behind Hoard’s call during a big play for the Bengals. Hoard called this the “honour of a lifetime.”
Parrish was originally a 7th round pick of the Bengals in 1970, and quickly became a player that was leaned on. He is a three time First Team All Pro, and made the Pro Bowl 8 times during his career. 8 of his 13 NFL seasons were spent in Cincinnati, and he finished his career with 47 interceptions, 25 of which came as a Bengal.
Lapham and Parrish will be joining a list of other organizational greats in the Ring of Honour, like Paul Brown, Anthony Muñoz, Ken Riley, Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, Chad Johnson, Willie Anderson, Isaac Curtis, Corey Dillon, and Tim Krumrie.
