The Bengals and S Geno Stone have agreed to a reworked deal.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because it is the second one done by the Bengals in a short while. RB Zack Moss was the first to have his deal reworked

This one is similar to the Moss deal, with the team getting some cap relief, and the player getting additional guarantees in his contract.

Stone entered the offseason as a potential cap casualty. If cut, the Bengals could have saved $6.475M in cap space, while taking on $1.5M in dead money.

But when no S was added in free agency, it became pretty clear that they intended to keep him. This was cemented when the position also went unaddressed in the draft.

Entering the season, Stone was set to take up $7.975M in cap space. After the reworked deal, $1.575M has been shaved off, bringing the total to $6.4M, according to Over the Cap. With the reduction in salary, the team doubled his guaranteed money from $1.5M to $3M.

Stone had a disappointing first season with the Bengals in 2024, but showed signs of life in the back quarter of it. They will be relying on him to again start at FS, and hopefully play with more consistency in year 2.
