Bengals QB Joe Burrow has been named the AP Comeback Player of the Year at the NFL Awards.

This is the second time Burrow has won the award, with the first one coming in 2021, after he returned from a torn ACL in the previous season to lead the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance.

Of course, this latest one goes back to when Burrow hurt his wrist in a game against the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. The injury ended his season and required a complicated surgery to repair.

Many questioned how he would be able to bounce back in 2024, coming off such a serious injury. And though the wins didn’t always follow, Burrow individually had one of the best seasons we have seen from a QB in the NFL.

In 2024, Burrow led the league in passing yards with 4,918, and also led the league in passing TD’s, with 43. His 70.6 completion percentage is also an elite number. In fact, Burrow joins Drew Brees as the only QB’s to complete over 70% of their passes in multiple seasons.

As impressive as this is for Burrow on an individual level, the star player will certainly be hoping that things are a bit more smooth next season from a team perspective. But with a QB of his calibre leading the charge, you know that you always have a chance.
