The Bengals have re-signed LS Cal Adomitis.

Adomitis was an ERFA (exclusive rights free agent), meaning that he could only negotiate with the Bengals, as long as they offered him a contract.

The contract is standard for ERFA’s. It is a minimum deal, 1 year/$870k.

Adomitis was originally signed by the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Pitt, following the 2022 NFL Draft. He was widely considered to be the top long snapper in the draft class. Adomitis started the year on the practice squad before taking over as the starter in week 2, following the injury to longtime starter Clark Harris.

Adomitis didn’t quite perform to the level of Harris, who had essentially been perfect over the last decade or so. However, he didn’t make any critical mistakes, and looked solid enough over the course of the season.

At this point in the offseason, it is too early to pencil him in as the starter. It is still possible, if not, likely that some competition is brought in. Perhaps Clark Harris is brought back on a 1 year deal, or maybe another rookie is brought in to compete. But at the very least, the Bengals now have someone under contract for next season who has shown he can perform at a relatively high level, and still has room to further improve.
