The Bengals head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in week 3. Thus far, they have avoided any major injuries, with Trae Waynes being the notable name to miss time. This week, they do seem to have avoided anything major, in terms of time that will be missed, but there are a couple of notable names that are likely to miss this week.

*Note: Participation records are for Friday’s practice

Trae Waynes has been inching closer to making his Bengals debut. He practiced for the first time this week, albeit in a limited capacity. However, it seems like he might need an extra week, as he is listed as doubtful for Sunday. Starters Tee Higgins and Xavier Su’a-Filo both picked up injuries last week against the Bears, and are both listed as doubtful. Jackson Carman should make his first career start at RT, while we could see a combination of Auden Tate and Mike Thomas filling in for Higgins.

UPDATE: TRAE WAYNES DOWNGRADED TO OUT

In other news from earlier this week, the San Francisco 49ers have signed RB Jacques Patrick off the Bengals practice squad. Patrick had an impressive preseason but a lack of special teams ability likely contributed to him falling just short of making the team. The 49ers have been dealing with a lot of injuries at RB, so their decision to pluck Patrick from the Bengals doesn’t come as a surprise.

With the open spot, the Bengals have signed C Lamont Gaillard to the practice squad. Gaillard was with the Bengals during the offseason but was waived during final cuts.
