Ravens Sign Former Bengals DT Josh Tupou

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former Bengals DT Josh Tupou.

Tupou originally joined the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He has appeared in 65 games for the Bengals, while making 23 starts. In 2020, he opted out from the season, something players were given the option to do during that Covid season.

Tupou spent his time as a rotational NT in Cincinnati. His massive frame made him useful against the run. Ironically, some of his best games came against the Ravens.

His play had declined a bit over the last couple of seasons. Still, there was some thought that he might come back, given the loss of DJ Reader. However, the Bengals got younger along the interior, adding two more players through the draft. As well, they are hoping to see more growth from other young guys, like Jay Tufele and Zach Carter. Their depth at the position made them feel comfortable with letting go of Topou.
