The Miami Dolphins have signed former Bengals CB Eli Apple.
Apple was originally the 10th overall pick by the New York Giants, before flaming out and spending time with the Saints and Panthers. Things didn’t work out there either, leading him to eventually sign with the Bengals in hopes of resurrecting his career.
In Cincinnati, he did just that. In his first season, he was forced into a starting spot after Trae Waynes went down with an injury. He was shaky early on, but improved with time by cutting down on the critical mistakes.
Though his game still consisted of some peaks and valleys, Apple did more good than bad, and he earned another contract with the Bengals. He started once again in 2022, and was a big part of both playoff runs.
In 2023, the Bengals decided to move on, instead bringing in veteran Sidney Jones and drafting DJ Turner in the 2nd round. Apple joins a Miami team that recently found out they will be without CB Jalen Ramsey for a while.
