UPDATE: The game has been ruled a “no contest” and will not be resumed.

The matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills has been postponed following the injury sustained by Bills S Damar Hamlin.

Well into the 1st quarter, with the Bengals on their second drive, Tee Higgins made a catch and then lowered his shoulder as he went to the ground. It was Hamlin who made the tackle. Hamlin initially got up, but then collapsed onto the ground.

According to reports, Hamlin had to been given CPR and oxygen. He was eventually loaded onto a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance.

Players on the Bills were visibly shaken and both teams were out on the field as this was taking place. The two head coaches, Zac Taylor and Sean McDermott, met with each other to determine what would take place next. After discussion, each coach sent their respective team back to the locker room.

A little while later, the announcement was made that the game would not be resuming tonight. The following message was shown on the video board at Paycor Stadium:

Hamlin was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and was listed in critical condition.

Thoughts and prayers to Damar and the Hamlin family in what is a scary situation.
