The Bengals have signed TE Tanner Hudson to the practice squad, and released DT Tyler Shelvin from the practice squad.

The move adds depth at the TE position after Hayden Hurst picked up a calf injury against the Chiefs. He was recently seen in a protective boot, and will miss at least one week.

Hudson was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He spent a few seasons with the Bucs, bouncing between the roster and the practice squad, and suited up for them when they made the Super Bowl. Most recently, he had been playing for the Giants, but they waived him a few days ago. Hudson has 15 career catches for 199 yards.

Tyler Shelvin was a 4th round pick by the Bengals in 2021. The big NT made the team in 2021, but played sparingly. He has spent most of 2022 on the Bengals practice squad, aside from the odd gameday elevation. To date, he has 4 tackles credited to his name, in 5 career games played.
