The Bengals have signed the following 10 players to reserve/futures deals:
- QB, Jake Browning
- RB, Elijah Holyfield
- WR, Pooka Williams
- TE, Thaddeus Moss
- TE, Scotty Washington
- C, Lamont Gaillard
- DE, Noah Spence
- CB, John Brannon
- S, Trayvon Henderson
- P, Drue Chrisman
These moves are standard once the season concludes. Unlike players on the active roster, practice squad members immediately become free agents, meaning teams have to act quickly to lock them up for next season.
With the exception of Chrisman, each of these players were on the Bengals practice squad through Super Bowl LVI.
As for Chrisman, he spent much of the year on the Bengals practice squad, but was released earlier on. He signed his deal prior to the Super Bowl. By signing a reserve/futures deal, he was ineligible to play in the Super Bowl. This type of contract places him on a reserve list until the new league year begins in March.
These guys will compete for depth positions on the roster and practice squad spots when training camp finally rolls around. Needless to say, none are locks to make it.
