The Bengals have signed QB Drew Plitt to the practice squad. Plitt originally signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2022, spending camp and the preseason with the team, before eventually being waived. He then started a few games in the XFL this past spring.
Plitt will serve as the 3rd string QB, behind Browning and McCarron, in his second stint with the Bengals. This move comes after Joe Burrow sustained a season ending wrist injury in last week’s loss to the Ravens.
To make room for Plitt on the practice squad, rookie G Jaxson Kirkland was placed on the practice squad injured list. He is reportedly dealing with a wrist injury.
