On Thursday, the Bengals waived OT Andrew Stueber.
Stueber was signed by the Bengals off of the Falcons practice squad back in October. This was at a time where the OL depth had taken some hits. Orlando Brown was dealing with an injury, and Jaxson Kirkland had been lost for the season.
Stueber appeared in 4 games this season, but did not play any snaps on offence. His playing time came on special teams, as a blocker on field goals.
On Friday, Stueber cleared waivers and was signed by the Bengals onto the practice squad.
With the open roster spot, the team elected to promote OT Devin Cochran to the active roster from the practice squad.
Cochran, who signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2022, had spent the entire year on the practice squad up to this point. He was elevated to the game day roster three times this season, which is the maximum number of elevations allowed for a player on the practice squad. Evidently, the coaches must have been impressed, as this signing suggests that they plan for him to be active in more games going forward.
