The Bengals have checked off another box in the offseason to do list, signing LB Logan Wilson to a contract extension.
According to Ian Rapoport, the extension is for 4 years, worth up to $37.25M, with an average of $11.25M over the first 2 years of the deal.
Wilson has worn the headset on defence for the last while, as he has grown into a leadership role on this team. His play on the field, meanwhile, can speak for itself. Wilson’s instincts have allowed him to thrive in coverage and against the run, and since being drafted, he has developed into one of the league’s best at the position.
Wilson was set to be a free agent following the 2023 season, so getting an extension done was something that the team was hoping to get done. With Germaine Pratt also re-signing back in March, the Bengals have their elite duo locked up for the foreseeable future.
The Bengals have already gotten two extensions done this summer, in Hendrickson and Wilson. Now, even more focus will be on Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins, both of whom will be needing extensions of their own pretty soon.
