Bengals Sign K Evan McPherson to Contract Extension

The Bengals have agreed to a contract extension with K Evan McPherson.

According to Mike Garafolo, it is a 3 year/$16.5M deal, with $10M in new money for the first year. This deal locks up McPherson through the 2027-28 NFL season.

McPherson was originally a 5th round pick of the Bengals in 2021. As a rookie, he quickly became one of the best kickers in the league, hitting several difficult kicks from beyond 50 yards, and making clutch kicks in key moments.

Up to this point in his career, McPherson is 78/89 on field goals (83.9%). On extra points, he is 126/132 (95.5%). McPherson has shown to step up his game even further in the playoffs, where he is a perfect 19/19 on field goals and 12/13 on extra points (92.3%).

McPherson’s $5.5M AAV will kick in next season.
