Bengals sign DE Tarell Basham to 1 year deal.
Basham was originally a 3rd round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2017 NFL Draft. After spending about a season and a half with the Colts, he was waived, and has since bounced around a bit. He was then signed by the Jets, before later spending time with the Cowboys and, most recently, the Titans.
The Bengals had the 29 year old in for a workout recently, and evidently liked what they saw. He hasn’t blown up the stat sheet thus far into his career, but has been a solid rotational player. This is another cheap deal with upside for the Bengals, after they brought in Irv Smith at TE. Basham will be added to the competition, going up against guys like Jeffrey Gunter and Raymond Johnson, as well as other potential signings and/or draft picks.
