The Bengals, in addition to Zach Gentry, have signed DE Garrett Nelson to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, they have released LB Tyler Murray from it.

Nelson is a rookie UDFA who originally signed with the Miami Dolphins. In the preseason, he racked up 5 tackles and a sack. He is the second DE to be added to the Bengals practice squad, joining Jeffrey Gunter.

Murray was a rookie free agent signing by the Bengals. In a deep reserve role, he was able to do enough to earn a spot on the initial practice squad. However, it seems as though the Bengals saw more value in having two DE’s instead of two LB’s on the practice squad. Shaka Heyward is now the lone LB on the practice squad.
