The Bengals have signed CB Javaris Davis, and waived CB/S Brendan Radley-Hiles in a corresponding move
Javaris Davis originally went undrafted out of Auburn, before eventually signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. He was waived shortly after, and signed with the Miami Dolphins. The CB has spent most of the past two seasons on Miami’s practice squad, being elevated for one game this past season.
In college, Davis showed to be a good athlete with good instincts and ability to succeed in man coverage. However, he is a bit undersized, which will likely keep him limited to the slot.
Radley-Hiles was originally signed by the Bengals as an undrafted free agent following this year’s draft. He showed some potential in college as a versatile piece in the secondary, but consistency was an issue. Unfortunately, he did not have a good performance in the preseason opener, and the Bengals opted to replace him.
With the two corresponding moves, the Bengals roster remains at the 85 man limit.
