The Bengals have re-signed CB Jalen Davis.

Contract details have not yet been released, but I’d assume it is a 1 year deal.

Davis, 30, first joined the Bengals back in 2020. Most of his time with the organization has been spent on the practice squad, but there have been some stretches where he has filled in on defence. He has generally been reliable in those stints, which allowed him to stick around year after year.

This past season, injuries to other players allowed him to get a more extended look. For much of the back half, Davis operated as the starting slot CB, and consistently earned praise for his work in coverage, as well as his blitzing. He was also able to snag an interception in the game against Miami.

As of today, Davis is sitting in that starting spot. Of course, free agency and/or the draft could very well push him back into a depth role. But with that being said, his performance last season definitely has him in a better spot than he was in at this time last year. After having to settle for a practice squad spot to start 2025, it seems much more likely that he’ll make the final roster this upcoming season.
