The Bengals have re-signed CB Jalen Davis.
Davis was set to become an exclusive rights free agent. ERFA’s are free agents who have not yet accrued three seasons in the NFL. If tendered a contract, they are not allowed to negotiate with other teams.
On the ERFA tender, it is a 1 year deal for Davis at the league minimum. He was originally a UDFA in 2018, signing first with the Dolphins.
Davis ended up on the Bengals practice squad in the middle of the 2020 season. After an impressive preseason, he cracked the 53 man roster for 2021. The CB appeared in 15 games in a depth/special teams role.
Davis is not a lock to make it next year, but will get the chance to compete for a spot once again.
