The Bengals have promoted TE Cam Grandy off of the practice squad to the active roster.
Grandy is a rookie undrafted free agent. He doesn’t add much as a pass catcher, but instead stood out in college for his blocking. This carried over into the preseason, which earned him a spot on the practice squad. When Erick All tore his ACL a couple of weeks ago, the Bengals were looking for an extra body to help with the blocking, which prompted a temporary elevation for the game against the Ravens. There, he was able to impress enough to earn a place on the roster.
To make room, RB Kendall Milton has been waived.
Milton had been signed off of the practice squad when Zack Moss went on IR, but became expendable after the Khalil Herbert trade. The Bengals will go forward with Chase Brown, Herbert, and Trayveon Williams at RB, and Milton will likely end up back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
