The Bengals have signed S Michael Thomas off of the practice squad. Thomas was originally signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an UDFA in 2012. He has since spent time with the Dolphins, Giants, and Texans, managing to find his way into 97 games. The 31 year old was signed to the Bengals practice squad in early October. His promotion comes after Brandon Wilson was placed on IR with a torn ACL. Wilson was injured while returning a kickoff against the Cleveland Browns in week 9.

The team has also signed LB Austin Calitro to the practice squad. Calitro is a familiar face, as he spent the 2020 offseason on the Bengals roster. However, he was traded prior to the start of that season, to the Denver Broncos, in exchange for Christian Covington. In total, the 27 year old has spent time with eight different franchises, and has appeared in 42 games to date. He gives the Bengals another body at LB after Akeem Davis-Gaither was placed on IR with a foot injury.
