The Bengals have made a couple of roster moves ahead of their week 15 matchup against the Titans.
QB Logan Woodside has been promoted to the active roster off of the practice squad.
This is a bit of a curious move. Woodside has served as the 3rd string QB on the practice squad, up to this point. There is no word of any injury to backup QB Jake Browning. Joe Burrow did come up gimpy with a knee injury last week, but there have been no reports of him potentially missing time. In fact, he practiced fully all week.
In any event, Woodside gets a bump up to the roster, perhaps so the Bengals can take advantage of the emergency 3rd QB rule, which would allow him to dress for the game without counting towards the 46 man limit.
To make room, the team placed LB Joe Bachie on IR.
Bachie had already been ruled out for week 15’s game with a groin injury, but this recent update means that his season is over, as there are only 4 games left, which is the minimum amount a player on IR must miss.
