The Bengals have placed OT Trent Brown on the active/NFI list.
He was signed by the Bengals as a free agent back in March. This move is a bit of a surprise, as no injury had been talked about up to this point in the offseason. That said, Trent Brown has dealt with plenty of them throughout his career, so to be dealing with something this early isn’t ideal.
Given that he was placed on the non-football injury list, we can say that whatever he is dealing with occurred away from the team. He was only placed on the active list, as opposed to reserve, so the Bengals can activate him at any time, meaning that this very well could be something minor.
Brown joins Erick All in the active/NFI list. DJ Ivey and Devonnsha Maxwell were also recently placed on injury lists, with both landing on active/PUP. Should Brown remain on the active/NFI list into the regular season, he’ll be required to miss a minimum of 4 games.
If Brown misses time during camp, it will give rookie 1st round OT Amarius Mims a chance to take reps with the first team.
