The Bengals have picked up the 5th year option of OT Jonah Williams. Williams was the Bengals 1st round pick in 2019. The option comes with all first round picks, and must be either picked up or declined prior to the player’s fourth year in the league.

After missing his entire rookie year with an injury, Williams has been one of the brighter spots on the offensive line, since taking over as the starting LT in 2020. While he hasn’t quite performed to the level of a high 1st round pick, his consistency, and the importance of the position, made it a no brainer for the Bengals to pick up his option.

The Bengals have re-signed P Kevin Huber.

Huber, who has been with the Bengals for over a decade, had lasted through the frenzy period of free agency without a contract. The Bengals still have Drue Chrisman on the roster, and considering they kept him around on the practice squad last year, they seem to like him.

Huber is coming off a down year, in which you could see signs of decline. There are reports swirling around that the Bengals were considering drafting a punter in the 4th, until a couple of them were taken ahead of their pick. The team did not end up addressing the position in the draft or in the form of an undrafted free agent. Instead, Huber will return to battle it out with Chrisman for the job.
