With the first training camp practice approaching fast, the Bengals have made some routine roster moves.
The following players have been placed on the active/Physically Unable to Perform list:
- DT Renell Wren
- WR Riley Lees
The following players have been placed on the active/Non-Football Injury list
- OT Hakeem Adeniji
- DE Cam Sample
- DE Wyatt Hubert
- P Drue Chrisman
They have also placed RB Pooka Williams on the Active/Non-Football Illness list.
The NFI list is for players that report to training camp with an injury or illness that was picked up while away from the team. The team has the choice to put them on the active or reserve list. Players placed on the reserve list can’t practice for at least six weeks and must miss at least 8 games. Once a player starts practicing, a three week window is opened for them to be activated. If they are not activated, they miss the entire season. Each team is allowed to activate two players per season from the reserve/NFI list.
On the active/NFI list, players still count against the roster limit and can be activated at any time. However, if they remain on this list when the season starts, they revert to the reserve/NFI list.
The PUP list is similar to the NFI list. There are a few minor differences, but the major difference is that these are for football related injuries that occurred before the start of training camp.
Adeniji suffered a torn pectoral during OTA’s, while Wren suffered a season ending injury last offseason. The other injuries, however, will have to be monitored as training camp progresses in order to find out the extent.
