Bengals LB Logan Wilson Requests Trade

Bengals LB Logan Wilson has requested a trade.

Wilson joins a list that quietly has grown over the past handful of years, with guys like Jonah Williams, Trey Hendrickson, and Germaine Pratt having done so at some point. In Zac Taylor’s first year as head coach of the Bengals, Carlos Dunlap also requested one, and was traded to the Seahawks soon after.

In this case, it doesn’t come as the biggest surprise. Wilson has been a mainstay on the defensive side ever since he was drafted back in 2020. However, this season, there have been times where it looks like he has lost a step.

Wilson eventually lost his starting spot to rookie Barrett Carter. He primarily played on special teams against the Packers. And while he did see an uptick in snaps last week against the Steelers, the veteran is clearly still not satisfied.

We’ll see if the Bengals allow his request to come to fruition. We know that they don’t force trades just because of a request. However, for an aging player who does not play a premium position, and has been relegated to backup duty, a trade might be in the best interest of both sides. The team could probably get a mid round pick in return, or potentially swap him in a deal for another player.
