The Bengals have designated WR Auden Tate for return off IR. This opens up a three week window in which he can practice without counting towards the 53 man roster limit. While it is not a guarantee the Bengals will do so in time for Saturday’s Wildcard game, he can be activated any time within the three week window
Tate has been on IR since early December with a calf injury. He only has 3 receptions on the year, totaling 39 yards and a TD.
In other news, the team released LB Austin Calitro from the active roster, and has since signed him back to the practice squad. Calitro was recently signed off the practice squad, as more depth was needed after injuries hit. Heading into their Wildcard matchup against the Raiders, they are getting several guys back off the covid reserve list, forcing them to clear some space.
Calitro mainly played on special teams in the games he did get into.
