The Bengals have claimed WR Isaiah Williams off waivers from the Detroit Lions.
Williams is a rookie undrafted free agent out of Illinois. He originally signed with the Lions after the draft, and was actually able to crack their 53 man roster.
With the Lions, Williams managed to reel in 2 passes for 6 yards, while adding 36 yards on his lone kickoff return.
This move comes while the Bengals are dealing with injuries at WR. Both Tee Higgins and Charlie Jones have missed the last couple of weeks. Williams’ experience as a returner gives them some versatility, as he can add offensive and special teams depth, with Jones having been the primary return man.
