According to reports, the Bengals and DE Sam Hubbard have agreed to terms on a 4 year/$40M contract extension.

It is a big raise for the 2018 3rd round pick. Hubbard has been one of the better DE’s against the run, something the Bengals value a lot. He has also been a solid pass rusher, if you look past his 2020 season where he was bothered by an elbow injury.

Three years into his career, Hubbard has put up 16.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 177 total tackles.

This 4 year extension comes in addition to the 1 year he had left on his rookie contract, meaning he is locked up through the 2025 season.

With Hubbard’s deal out of the way, a Jessie Bates extension could also be coming soon. He is expected to receive somewhere between $15M-$20M per year.
