The Bengals’ scouting department has undergone some changes over the last week or so. It started when Christian Sarkisian left to join Northwestern in the college ranks. Then, they made an addition, adding Trey LaBounty as a scouting research analyst.
Since then, two more additions have been made to the scouting department, with Josh Hinch and Tyler Ramsey coming aboard, according to Neil Stratton.
Hinch is joining the Bengals after serving as a scout for the New England Patriots since 2021. According to Stratton, his focus last season was on scouting the southeast. Before his stint with the Patriots, Hinch spent time scouting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as in the XFL and AAF.
Ramsey, meanwhile, has been with the Carolina Panthers for the last while, as a part of their scouting department. Prior to that, he joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, spending 12 seasons in the organization, with varying roles, all related to scouting.
For fans, these moves will be welcomed, given that the Bengals’ scouting department has infamously been known as one of the smallest in the league. With LaBounty, Ramsey, and Hinch joining the organization, and only Sarkisian departing (as far as we know right now), the department has gotten bigger, even if it is just a marginal difference.
