Bengals 2023 Roster Breakdown: Special Teams

Bengals Roster Breakdown: Special Teams

Players:

2. Evan McPherson (K)

10. Brad Robbins (P)

4. Drue Chrisman (P)

48. Cal Adomitis (LS)

We conclude the series with a look at how the special teams unit looks heading into camp. This year is the official passing of the torch, of sorts, as it is the first offseason where Kevin Huber and Clark Harris, both of whom spent over a decade with the Bengals, are out of the fold.

Evan McPherson is the lone kicker on the roster. The Bengals have a few spots left to perhaps add a body for the preseason, but regardless, he is locked in as the guy, and will be for a long time.

Drue Chrisman took over for Huber part way through last year, but after repeated hang time issues, the Bengals added a punter through the draft. Brad Robbins was taken with a mid round pick, and will be the starting punter, unless he really flops. The question for Chrisman is if he can show enough to still be kept on the practice squad.

Cal Adomitis, at long snapper, is in a similar situation as McPherson is at kicker, being the only player at his position on the roster. He took over after Clark Harris got hurt in week 1, and never looked back. Adomitis will be the team’s long snapper in 2023.
