2024 NFL Draft: Special Teams Rankings

P

1

P, Tory Taylor

School: Iowa

Ht/Wt: 6’4”, 223 lbs

Booming leg and solid hang time. Can easily flip the field for a team pinned deep in their own end. Will need to get away from the Australian rugby kicking style, or else risk having punts blocked. But no doubt the talent is thee.

2

P, Ryan Rehkow

School: BYU

Ht/Wt: 6’4”, 235 lbs

Huge leg to flip the field if his team is pinned deep in their own end. He struggles, however, with hangtime. Returners have more room and can do some damage. It is something he’ll have to fix. But he has potential.

K

1

K, Josh Karty

School: Stanford

Ht/Wt: 6’2”, 207 lbs

Booming leg that can kick a 60 yard field goal. His technique is good and the ball usually spins straight when it leaves his foot. Missed one in the wind, but the sample size is too small to know if it’s an issue. No glaring problems with Karty.

2

K, Will Reichard

School: Alabama

Ht/Wt: 6’1”, 187 lbs

Experience kicking in the biggest games. Accurate on shorter kicks, and solid numbers from beyond 50 as well. Leg strength is about average by NFL standards. Ball trajectory on his kicks is a little crooked.

LS

1

LS, Peter Bowden

School: Wisconsin

Ht/Wt: 6’2”, 242 lbs

Gets great velocity on his snaps and great accuracy. This goes for the long snaps to the punter, as well as the shorter field goal ones. He blocks well in punt protection and will then run down in coverage. Could say he might be a bit stiff as an athlete, but it would be a bit of a nitpick.

2

LS, Joe Shimko

School: North Carolina State

Ht/Wt: 6’0”, 233 lbs

Snaps are generally accurate and with enough velocity. He’ll go down the field in coverage and is a willing tackler. The downside is that he is small for the position. Will need to handle powerful lineman looking to get to the kicker/punter in the NFL.
