AJ Green Retires a Member of the Bengals, Signs 1 Day Contract

The Bengals have signed WR AJ Green to a 1 day contract, allowing him to officially retire as a Bengal.

Green was originally a 1st round pick, 4th overall, by the Bengals in 2011. He went onto become a crucial part of the team over the course of his tenure, which lasted until 2020. Green was selected to 7 Pro Bowls during his career, and finished with 727 career receptions for 10,514 yards and 70 TD.

Following the 2020 season, Green signed with the Arizona Cardinals, where he spent the final 2 seasons of his career. This 1 day contract now allows Green to officially retire as a Bengal.

In addition to signing the contract, Green will be at the Bengals week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, as the Ruler of the Jungle. It is a fitting game for him to be the RUler of the Jungle. As many may remember, he became known as the “Ravens killer” during his time with the Bengals, having so much success against the division rival.
